![]() ![]() There are several reasons for dredging: the coating applied to the food acts as a barrier that keeps the food from sticking to the pan as it cooks it enables the exterior of the food to become crisp and darken evenly without burning and it prevents the food from becoming tough-textured.ĭredging should occur just before cooking. Fish fillets, boneless poultry, pork cutlets, and veal cutlets are some of the foods that are often dredged in dry ingredients before cooking. ![]() For example, chicken pieces can be dredged through flour, herbs, spices, or breadcrumbs so the pieces achieve a browned, crispy coating after being cooked. Flour is the most common dredge used, but other ingredients can be used as well. ![]() (ii) Activities that involve only the cutting or removing of vegetation above the ground (e.g.The process of pulling foods through dry ingredients to coat them before cooking. ![]() These discharges are subject to section 402 of the Clean Water Act even though the extraction and deposit of such material may require a permit from the Corps or applicable state Section 404 program (i) Discharges of pollutants into waters of the United States resulting from the onshore subsequent processing of dredged material that is extracted for any commercial use (other than fill). The term discharge of dredged material does not include the following: (iii) Any addition, including redeposit other than incidental fallback, of dredged material, including excavated material, into waters of the United States which is incidental to any activity, including mechanized landclearing, ditching, channelization, or other excavation. (ii) The runoff or overflow from a contained land or water disposal area and (i) The addition of dredged material to a specified discharge site located in waters of the United States The term includes, but is not limited to, the following: ”The term “discharge of dredged material” means any addition of dredged material into, including any redeposit of dredged material other than incidential incidental fallback within, the waters of the United States. ![]()
